soлomiya ist ein Independent-Magazin, das im April 2022 von OSTKREUZ-Fotograf Sebastian Wells und dem in Kyiv lebenden Fotografen Vsevolod Kazarin als Reaktion auf den russischen Krieg gegen die Ukraine gegründet wurde und sich zum Ziel gesetzt hat, die junge Kultur- und Kunstszene in der Ukraine zu erforschen und bekannt zu machen. Die erste Ausgabe mit dem Titel „War but Art“ enthält mit Fotografien, Collagen, Texten und Illustrationen Werke der bereits bekannten ukrainischen Künstler Sasha Kurmaz und Mykola Ridny ebenso wie Arbeiten aufstrebender Talente. Sie zeigt, was bereits verloren ist, aber umso mehr, was es zu verteidigen gibt.
soлomiya erscheint in englischer Sprache, wurde vom Berliner Grafik-Büro Kollektiv Scrollan gestaltet und entstand in Zusammenarbeit mit der Akademie der Künste, Berlin.
Das Magazin ist bei feldfünf und an vielen anderen Standorten erhältlich. Der Erlös geht an die teilnehmenden ukrainischen Künstler*innen.

soлomiya is an independent magazine founded in April 2022 by Berlin-based OSTKREUZ-photographer Sebastian Wells and Kyiv-based photographer Vsevolod Kazarin in response to the Russian war against Ukraine and aims to explore and expose the young cultural and artistic scene in Ukraine, promoting it in both Ukrainian and European cities. The first issue titled "War but Art" is meant to be a platform for the self-expression of a young generation of creatives in Kyiv. It shows some of what has already been lost but even more of what needs to be defended. The publication contains photographs, collages, texts and illustrations and features works by already well-known Ukrainian artists Sasha Kurmaz and Mykola Ridny as well as upcoming talents. It is less a reporting-on-artists publication rather than a mobile group exhibition in the form of a magazine.
soлomiya is published in English and has been realized with the support of Akademie der Künste, Berlin and was designed by Kollektiv Scrollan.
The magazine is available at feldfünf and many other locations. All proceeds go to the participating Ukranian artists.
