Agglomerationen sind die Zukunft unserer Städte. Das negative Bild des Stadtrands ist eine Sichtweise der Vergangenheit. Stattdessen sehen wir in der Agglomeration ein einzigartiges Potenzial, das nicht dem ungebremsten Wachstum überlassen werden darf.

Gesichtslos, fragmentiert, vergessen - Das ist der Zustand der meisten Areale in Städten rund um den Erdball. Wie lassen sich diese zersplitterten Bereiche zusammenfügen? Stellen Sie sich vor, urbane Ökotone als Orte der Reibung und Begegnung zu schaffen, an denen räumliche Eingriffe Menschen dazu bringen, Gebäude, Freiräume, urbane Systeme und Atmosphären gemeinsam zu bewohnen.

Willkommen zu unserem Experiment: eine Ausstellung, welche 5 Ansätze, 4 Universitäten und 3 Disziplinen global zusammenbringt, um Ideen für ein urbanes Leben an 3 Orten in Berlin zu agglomerieren. Wir freuen uns darauf, einen Prozess in Gang zu setzen, in dem Gestaltung wieder zum Thema werden muss: standortsspezifisch, über die Hemisphären, durch die Professionen der Architektur, des Städtebaus, der Landschaftsarchitektur hindurch, und verankert in Theorie und Praxis.

Agglomerations around city centres prompt the future of urban development. The negative image of the urban fringe is a view of the past. Instead, we see agglomeration as a promising process and agglomerated urban areas as offering a unique potential that must not be left to unbridled growth. 

Faceless, fragmented, forgotten - This is the condition of most urban sites in cities around the globe. How to agglomerate these atomised bits and pieces? Imagine creating urban ecotones as places of friction and encounter, where spatial interventions prompt people to co-inhabit buildings, open spaces, urban systems, and atmospheres.

Welcome to our experiment: an exhibition which agglomerates 5 approaches, 4 universities, 3 disciplines to suggest ideas for an urban living on 3 sites in Berlin. We look forward to kickstart a process of discussing the question of global urbanisation site-specificially, across the hemispheres, across architecture, urbanism, and landscape architecture, and across theory and practice.
