From 11 March to 13 March 2024, the former wholesale flower market district was the venue for the peer learning conferences hosted by the Berlin Senate Department for Urban Development, Building and Housing together with feldfünf in the Metropolenhaus.

The Berlin quarter at the former wholesale flower market was named one of 30 projects of excellence in the European catalogue of good building culture in 2023. The competition was organised by the Architects’ Council of Europe and Eurocities and is part of the EU Commission’s ‘Living Spaces’ programme.

12 of the award-winning projects with a particular exemplary effect will be presented on site during the course of 2024 as part of visits by European experts in urban planning and architecture. At the centre of the expert visit is the approach of a cooperative planning culture, which was tested for the first time in Berlin in the Blumengroßmarkt neighbourhood as part of a property policy oriented towards the common good.
