Field School: Berlin – The Studio and the City
Ausgehend von der Bedeutung und des Einflusses sogenannter Post-Studio Praktiken, beschäftigt sich die Field School: Berlin – The Studio and the City mit künstlerischen Prozessen und Handlungen, die sich in alltäglichen sowohl physischen als auch virtuellen urbanen, sozialen, kollektiven extra-disziplinären Räumen, Situationen und Kontexten verorten. Dazu wird das Plädoyer der Künstlerin, Aktivistin und Pädagogin Suzanne Lacy für ein »Atelier auf der Straße« aufgegriffen – einem Raum, in dem Reflexion und Produktion fließend und manchmal ununterscheidbar sind. In Form von Workshops und praktischen Übungen werden experimentelle investigative, analytische, performative und partizipatorische Ansätze einer kritischen künstlerischen Praxis und Feldforschung erprobt, welche durch Vorträge und Atelier-Gespräche mit eingeladenen Künstler*innen ergänzt werden.
Eine Kooperation des Labor für Kunst und Forschung am Department Kunst und Musik der Universität zu Köln mit feldfünf, Plattform für prozessbasierte, transkulturelle Projekte Berlin. Mit Beiträgen von Susanne Bürner, Discoteca Flaming Star, Annette Kiesling, Stefan Römer, Thomas Kilpper und Jan Timme.

Field School: Berlin – The Studio and the City
Based on the significance and influence of so-called post-studio practices, the Field School: Berlin – The Studio and the City deals with artistic processes and actions that are located in everyday physical and virtual urban, social, collective extra-disciplinary spaces, situations and contexts. To this end, it will take up the plea of artist, activist and educator Suzanne Lacy for a "studio on the street" – a space where reflection and production are fluid and sometimes indistinguishable. Experimental investigative, analytical, performative and participatory approaches to critical artistic practice and field research will be tested in the form of workshops and practical exercises, which will be complemented by lectures and studio talks with invited artists*.
A cooperation of the Laboratory for Art and Research at the Department of Art and Music at the University of Cologne with feldfünf, platform for process-based, transcultural projects Berlin. With contributions by Susanne Bürner, Discoteca Flaming Star, Annette Kiesling, Stefan Römer, Thomas Kilpper and Jan Timme.
